How to engage subscribers to your community

VK has many opportunities for paid promotion. You will find detailed information about them in the following chapters. VK music is a full-fledged streaming platform, but this platform is part of the huge VK social network.

Many musical and entertainment communities work with the proposed news and can post a playlist with your tracks. 

VK also has curated playlists. They are usually collected by the enthusiasts who, at one time, created communities that later gained popularity. Now they have received the status of curators and regularly update their playlists that get on display. You can write to one of these curators and invite them to add your track to their playlist. 

Finally, VK has a considerable number of thematic public pages dedicated to a variety of music. Administrators of such communities are constantly in search of exciting performers. They are often enthusiasts ready to post tracks that match the style of their communities, completely free of charge. 

However, almost any musician has faced a situation when they are offered paid placement in several music communities. We do not recommend using paid placement services. 

Firstly, the public pages offered for paid placement are likely to have low reach. If you study such communities, you will surely see that the posts have very few views and almost no audience reaction.  

Secondly, now targeted advertising is much more effective than so-called "crops" (posts with specific content in various communities). As a rule, the audience of a music public page responds to one behavioural factor. For example, its subscribers may like rap or rock. In addition, the social network is already 14 years old — people could have joined the community a long time ago. Still, since then, their interests have significantly changed. With targeted advertising, you can gather a more relevant audience and track real-time user reactions.  

In addition to targeted advertising, it is also possible to promote a concert or release by "seeding" through a market platform — the VK advertising exchange. It allows you to place the news in music publics, billboard communities or groups of cities like the one called "Typical Petersburg"

To do this, you do not need to search for communities and contact administrators manually. The manager or performer is only required to write the post's text, give it a short title, and send the record for verification.

When it passes moderation, you can send requests for its publication to various communities. To do this, the advertiser must specify the budget and the subject of the community, the desired coverage, the region of subscribers’ residence, their average age and gender, and choose the time of placement.

After that, the system will select a list of communities that match the needed parameters and are free for publication. Groups that are unsuitable for the number of participants, subject matter, or the price can be excluded.
